Hi, my name is Michael King.

I started artful:minds out of curiosity—a need to dig deeper into the thinking and processes behind painting. As a working artist, I’ve always craved more than quick tips or surface-level interviews. I wanted real conversations about the challenges, philosophies, and insights that shape a lifelong studio practice.

So I began reaching out to artists I admire, asking the kinds of questions I wanted answers to—and recording those conversations so others could listen in.

artful:minds is a space for painters and visual artists to speak honestly and unhurriedly about their work. The interviews often explore ideas that rarely surface in public discussions about art. My hope is that each episode offers something lasting—whether it’s a practical insight or a shift in how you see your own creative path.

At its core, this podcast is about learning from each other—and keeping those deeper conversations alive.
