CRITIQUE MEMBERSHIP
A critique is not about us telling you what is wrong, it is a conversation about colour, space, direction, composition, design, values, brushwork, focal points, areas of rest, balance, movement, proportion, story and a lot more.
Whether your painting style is representational, impressionistic, realistic or more abstract, the critique is about growth, fresh thinking and exciting ideas.
A Critique Membership gives you access to one critique session per month, where you can receive feedback on up to two paintings from professional artists and peers. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage in discussions with fellow artists facing both similar and unique challenges. With members from multiple countries, all critiques take place over Zoom.
Attending the critique session is not mandatory but highly recommended, as it provides an opportunity for live discussion and to address any additional questions you may have. All sessions are recorded and made available shortly after, along with digital copies of the adjusted paintings for future reference.
Critique Membership is only $25 CAD/month or $275 CAD/year, equal to the cost of a single workshop but you get 12 full critique sessions and access 24/7 to past critiques. Monthly Critiques have moved to Michael King’s educational site—same great critiques, just a new home.
Here is what you can expect in a critique.
